New Delhi: Amid the ongoing border dispute with China, the government has blocked 59 apps related to China, including TikTok and UC Browser. The government has termed these apps as dangerous for security. Let me tell you that on the intervening night of June 15-16, 20 Indian soldiers, including the Colonel, lost their lives in a clash with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. Since then, there has been escalation on the border between the two countries. Sources said that the intelligence suggested that the apps were violating the terms of use, compromising users' privacy.

Apps that the government has blocked include TikTok, Shareit, UC Browser, Hello, Heli, Likee, Club Factory, News Dog, WeChat, UC News (UC News), Weibo, Xender are mainly involved.

"As per the information available, these apps are engaged in activities which are dangerous to the sovereignty and integrity of India, security, security of the state and public order," said the statement issued by the government. Because of this, these apps have been banned.

The move has been taken by the government amid a nationwide call by traders and civil society to boycott Chinese products and services after the June 15 clashes. The government had earlier banned the use of Chinese goods to upgrade the 4G equipment of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and the Rs 471 crore contract awarded by the railways to the Chinese company.

नई दिल्ली: चीन के साथ जारी सीमा विवाद के बीच सरकार ने TikTok और UC Browser समेत चीन से संबंध‍ित 59 ऐप्स को ब्लॉक कर दिया है. सरकार ने इन ऐप्स को सुरक्षा के लिहाज से खतरनाक बताया है. बता दें कि 15-16 जून की दरमियानी रात को लद्दाख के गलवान घाटी में चीनी सैनिकों के साथ हुए झड़प में कर्नल समेत भारत के 20 जवानों की जान चली गई थी. इसके बाद से ही दोनों देशों के बीच सीमा पर तनातनी जारी है. सूत्रों ने बताया कि खुफिया जानकारी में सुझाव दिया गया कि ऐप्स उपयोग की शर्तों का उल्लंघन कर रहे हैं, उपयोगकर्ताओं की गोपनीयता से समझौता कर रहे हैं.

सरकार ने जिन ऐप्स को ब्लॉक किया है उनमें टिकटॉक (TikTok), शेयरइट (Shareit), यूसी ब्राउजर (UC Browser), हैलो (Helo), लाइकी (Likee), क्लब फैक्ट्री (Club Factory), न्यूज डॉग, वीचैट, यूसी न्यूज (UC News), वीबो (Weibo), जेंडर (Xender) मुख्य रूप से शामिल है.

सरकार की तरफ से जारी बयान में कहा गया 'उपलब्ध सूचना के अनुसार, ये ऐप्स उन गतिविधियों में लगे हुए हैं जो भारत की संप्रभुता और अखंडता,सुरक्षा, राज्य की सुरक्षा और सार्वजनिक व्यवस्था के लिए खतरनाक हैं.' इस वजह से इन ऐप्स पर बैन लगाया गया है.

15 जून की झड़पों के बाद चीनी उत्पादों और सेवाओं का बहिष्कार करने के लिए व्यापारियों और नागरिक समाज के देशव्यापी आह्वान के बीच सरकार की तरफ से यह कदम उठाया गया है. सरकार ने इससे पहले भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड (BSNL) के 4G इक्विपमेंट को अपग्रेड करने के लिए चीनी सामान का इस्तेमाल और रेलवे द्वारा चीनी कंपनी को दिये गए 471 करोड़ रुपये के ठेके पर भी रोक लगा दी थी.
